Across the Presbytery June 12, 2-019

Planning Calendars have been ordered but will not be shipped to our office until August 2019.  Our current calendar is good till December 2019. They will be handed out at the September Presbytery Meeting.

Location for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) sixth Big Tent will run from August 1-3, 2019 in downtown Baltimore, Maryland.

The theme- based on Romans 12:2, Called to a Movement beyond Institution, will emphasize our hope of the gospel and its power to challenge institutional conventions. The goal is to come together and live in this moment, immersed in our current cultural context of racial division, gender identity, and economic disparity to be renewed, refreshed and reformed, so that we may be sent out to affect change in our own communities. Based at 2 downtown hotels, the Radisson and Lord Baltimore, the event will be accessible and affordable- making it possible for more Presbyterians to come together for a time of learning, engaging and fellowship.Further details will be posted on the Big Tent website at when finalized.

Mandy Boyd has had treatment and surgery at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York City. The surgeons, with the guidance of our Almighty God, removed all of her tumor, and for now, is cancer free.  She had a follow up consultation, and since this is the type of cancer that reoccurs, will have preventative chemotherapy.  We are rejoicing this outcome and realize it is the result of many, many prayers on her behalf.

Too slow for those who Wait,

Too swift for those who Fear,

But for those who Love,

Time is Eternity.

Hot off the press—Plattsburgh PC sent their Presbyterian Lunch Bake, that everyone raved about at the Presbytery Meeting.  So the recipe will be attached to this newsletter and you can share it with everyone.  It was a great Presbytery Meeting, sorry so many could not attend.  The weather was sunshine all the way there and also going home. Hope everyone had a safe trip and we missed the people that could not attend.

Now that summer has arrived, looking for more news for newsletter.  Thank you to all the churches who send me their newsletters each month.  I appreciate all the help.  Glad to hear how the people look forward to our news.  Joan Merritt, admin
