March 17- Evans Mills FPC of Leray- 10 am- at 8520 Leray St. Evans Mills.

March 24- Final Make Up Date- Western Adirondack Church- 10 am- Youngs Rd.,Star Lake, NY.

Theses dates are for all the CLERKS of SESSIONS to attend at least one.

Heuvelton First Presbyterian Church has many choir robes some Red, some light blue to give away to anyone who would like them.  The Robes will need to be cleaned as they have not been used for years and have just been hung in a closet. Please write to the church Clerk of Session at PO Box 438, Heuvelton, NY 13654, if you are interested.


We do need one church on the East side of the Presbytery  to host our Presbytery Meeting,  The dates are: Tuesday- April 10, 2018 Theresa Presbyterain Church; Saturday June 9, 2018 Potsdam First Presbyterian Church, Retreat September 28-29-Friday and Saturday, Tuesday November 13, 2018, still need this one to be filled.  Please advise the office or the Coordinating Council to let them know you are interested in hosting this last date.


First Presbyterian Church at Potsdam will be hosting at their church March 1, 2018 a Seminar for Social Justice with Politically Diverse Communities from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm.

This announcement comes from New York State Council of Churches. Faith leaders, unions, advocacy groups, government officials, and interested citizens are invited to attend.


A lot of our churches will be holding their Annual Congregational Meetings this month.

Forms are being mailed and emailed to each Churches Clerk of Session for their Necrology Report for 2017, Directory information of new officers of the Church with complete addresses, phone and email, and Session Record Review for 2017 and Pastors Terms of Call for 2018.  This is very important for you to complete so the office can update all the information for the new 2018 Directories. We also need them as soon as you can send them to the office after you hold your Annual Meeting.  Thank you for all your help this past year and this new year of service not only to your church but to the Presbytery of Northern New York. Plattsburgh First Presbyterian Church will be holding the Installation of Rev. Dr. Timothy J. Luoma on Sunday January 28, 2018 at 4:00 PM.

Church is located at 34 Brinkerhoff St. You are cordially invited to Tim’s Installation and reception to follow in Fellowship Hall. Let us all welcome Tim and family.

Plattsburgh Presbyterian Church is hosting a “Fat Friday” on February 9, from 6 pm – 7:30 in Fellowship Hall. Fun, Fellowship, desserts open to all ages.    Nancy Olsen, Local Mission Council, chair.


Mount Moriah Presbyterian Church recently received two men into full membership, one drives from Middlebury VT. A study group has been formed jointly with the Moriah Methodist Church with Ken Parker leading the group.

The study material Is a series from Cokesbury, the book titled “ Half Truths”. This group has two different sections, one meeting at 5:00 pm and a smaller group meeting at 7:15 pm on the same day.


March 4, 2018 is Celebrate the Gifts of Women Sunday. By action of the Presbyterian Church ( U.S.A.) General Assembly ( Orlando 1993). Celebrate the Gifts of Women appears in the planning calendar each year on the Sunday closest to March 5, International Women’s Day. Congregations and individuals are encouraged to celebrate this day each year, recognizing the gifts women bring to God, the Church, and the Community.

The 2018 theme is “ Women Called to Lead with Love.”   The Celebrate the Gifts of Women resource, written by Judy Record Fletcher, includes a worship service with a call to worship, call to confession, prayer of confession, and assurance of pardon, suggested scripture readings, a sermon starter and program suggestions, and a litany of thanksgiving for loving leaders. The Resource is also available in the November/December 2017 issue of Horizons magazine.


This year for Valentine’s Day, you can send a card to our friend or sweetheart with some extra love to be sent to Africa.

For a donation of any amount to the Women of grace Widow’s Fund, a Valentine’s card will be sent to the loved one of your choice notifying him or her that a gift has been made in his or her honor.  Better than chocolate and longer lsting than flowers, a Valentine’s Day gift to the women of grace Widow’s Fund will touch and change lives of widows and children in Malawi,Africa.  The women of Grace Widows’ Fund is a joint mission project of the canton and Watertown Presbyterian Churches dedicated to alleviating the extreme poverty faced by widows in Malawi.
